Personal Training

A fitness assessment along with an appropriate program is the first step to total body fitness. Neglecting to take the time for an assessment is a real mistake because you have no way to gauge your progress.

Regardless of your current fitness level or exercise experience, a Fitness Assessment is a very important tool to get a base line measurement of your current fitness level.

  • Medical History
  • Body Measurements
  • Nutritional Evaluation
  • Goal Assessment & Preparation
  • Cardio Test
  • Postural Evaluation
  • Flexibility Test
  • Strength Test
  • Endurance Test

  • As a trainer, it gives me invaluable information to help structure your workout program. When your assessment is complete, we discuss the findings together and set concrete goals on everything we measure. Not to mention, it is very motivating later to look back at where you started to measure your improvement and set new goals. This service can also be purchased as a stand-alone service whether or not you purchase training sessions or other services. A complete assessment with review and consultation takes four hours to complete.

Personal trainers can make the difference in the successes of your fitness program. A trainer can work with you regularly, or you can hire on a consulting basis to help design a workout for you and have it updated periodically. Personal trainers work with people of all ages. They can motivate you to exercise and make sure you're pursuing a program that will help you accomplish your desired goals. To do these things, personal trainers need a solid grounding in exercise science and a motivating personality.

    Nutritional Analysis

Fitness Now provides nutritional recommendations to each client, based on their specific goals and objectives. Our clients are given the necessary information to build an eating plan specifically tailored to meet those goals and objectives.

The purpose of the nutritional analysis is to provide you with an overview of your daily nutritional intake and pinpoint any deficiencies and over consumption. Following the nutritional analysis you will have the option to have meal plans developed for you, in addition to receiving information on what supplements would be recommended in accordance with the recommended daily allowances. One-on-one follow-ups will also be available to you.

You will be contacted by phone to be provided with the various packages that are available, or an appointment can be scheduled for you to come in to speak with a staff member. Then an appointment will be scheduled to get you started to healthier living.

It is important that you realize that obesity is the number one killer of Americans. In addition, long-term poor nutritional habits contribute to the development of medical conditions (i.e., Type II Diabetes).

    Martial Arts

All classes below are offered for group or private training.

    Tang Soo Do
is a Korean traditional martial art whose history dates back many centuries. Kicking techniques, for which Tang Soo Do is renowned, are based on the Tang Soo Do style as developed by Grandmaster Hwang Kee.

Tang Soo Do is both a hard and soft art.

The founder of Tang Soo Do, Grandmaster Hwang Kee, was a martial arts prodigy, having mastered Tae Kyun (another Korean system unrelated to Tae Kwon Do) at the age of 22. At that time (1936), he traveled to Northern China where he encountered a Chinese variation of martial art. From 1936 to 1945 he combined Eastern wisdom and developed what is now known as Tang Soo Do.

Tang Soo Do is not a sport. Though it is not essentially competitive, it has great combat applications. As a classical martial art, its purpose is to develop every aspect of the self, in order to create a mature person who totally integrates his/her intellect, body, emotions, and spirit. This integration helps to create a person who is free from inner conflict and who can deal with the outside world in a mature, intelligent, forthright, and virtuous manner.

Because of the aforementioned qualities of Tang Soo Do, Grandmaster Hwang Kee established and founded his first Tang Soo Do school under the name "Moo Duk Kwan". This school developed into a force that has most influenced the martial art.

    Tai Chi
Tai Chi was originally developed for combat.  Its fighting theory is to use the soft against the hard, and to use the round to neutralize the straight or square.  In order to achieve this goal, the body must be soft and the movements must be smooth and natural.  Tai Chi also emphasizes the cultivation of Qi to circulate in the body.  Because of this, Tai Chi can be used for maintaining health and improving longevity.

    Kickboxing For Health
This invigorating and fast paced training class involves the use of the entire body using techniques found in traditional western boxing and Karate.

    Massage

Doctors and consumers are turning more and more to massage as an adjunct to regular health practices. More working class professionals are using massage therapy to relieve stress and treat sore muscles. Massage therapists that once served only elite professionals or athletes see a wider range of clientele.
